Toverud arrived in Tallinn the day before and played the Main Event. The Mystery Bounty was his second event and the last one he had planned to play. “It’s very nice. Ran good, played good. First trophy,” he said. “It was the two events I planned to play, and I won at least half of them.”

The field had 70 entries, and the top nine players cashed. Laihinen took €2,320 for second, including €300 in bounties, and Sweden’s Kenneth Wiik finished third for €1,420.

Brandon Webb of the United States finished sixth and opened the biggest bounty of the week, worth €2,500. His €620 payout took him to €3,120, more than any player at the table except Toverud.

Norwegian handball legend Kjersti Grini finished seventh for €510. Grini scored 1,003 goals in 201 games for Norway, a national team record, and won the 1999 World Championship and Olympic bronze in Sydney in 2000. She also reached the S.O.R.B.E.T. final table this week, finishing sixth.

Toverud came close to a trophy in July, when he finished second in the €1,000 + 100 8-Game ring event at the WSOP Circuit in Tallinn for €12,220. He also enjoys the people at the table. “The mixed games community is the best community, and much more talkative at the table, and yeah, it’s just fun.”
