HOW TO PLAY

No Limit 5 Card Draw

Aim of the game is to make the best possible poker hand. Hand classes work like in hold’em, with Royal Flush being the best, and high card being the worst.

You get dealt five cards, and can draw as many cards as you like, but only once. The betting starts with a small, a big blind and a big blind ante, action starts to the left of the big blind pre draw, and to the left of the button after the draws. There is a betting round before and after the draw, for a total of 2 betting rounds. There are no limits to how much you can bet (you can go all-in whenever you want). The minimum bet/raise is equal to a big blind and/or the size of the last bet/raise. Limping is allowed.

Playing the game live:

  • Make sure to put out the right amount of cards – you’re not allowed to change this after you’ve put them out.
  • Notice how many cards your opponents are drawing, this will make a big difference when doing hand reading.

Pro tips:

  • Always draw 1 or 3 cards, except for when you’re all-in. With three of a kind you draw 1 card to be able to represent busted draws.
  • Drawing to flushes and straights in this game should be done with caution as you have very limited chances at making your hand.
  • Snowing is a very powerful move as it represents a very strong hand (full house, flush or straight) – but must be used carefully, it’s very hard to get dealt such hands!
  • Remember there are only 2 betting streets, you will often need to lead out of position for a chance to value bet or to bluff.
